Poisoned Nurse's avatar

Your article reinforces WHY I homeschool my children. I’ve been a nurse for 18 years and everything you speak of is exactly how it is. The system cannot have a nation of free thinkers who will question, challenge, and demand ethical informed consent.

Two of the finest doctors to ever treat me also believed Purdue Pharma when the corporate pusher touted the wonders of OxyContin as a “non-addictive” analgesic. Since 1996, opioids have been the curse and blessing of my life. I’ve undergone a number of so-called “drug holidays,” and attempted dozens of other treatment modalities. Nothing but opioids effectively relieve my lifelong chronic pain.

After a terrifying gap between prescribing doctors last year, during which I spent ten days going cold turkey, my most recent practitioner reduced my opioid dosage by two-thirds, and eliminated medications for breakthrough pain and nausea. Today’s regimen prevents me from entering withdrawal, for which I am grateful, but leaves me a hundred percent disabled from unaddressed pain that has not diminished, as I was assured it would. I don’t have any answers—or even any questions—at this late stage of life. This winter I optimistically tried Nurtec and Amovig without the desired effect, and was informed that opioids cause my chronic insomnia, and have robbed me of my singing voice.

My only certainty is that if I can possibly avoid it, I will not follow in the wheelchair path of Mrs. Henry Lafayette Dubose. Jem Finch read Sir Walter Scott to his elderly neighbor as she broke the back of her longtime morphine addiction. A thoroughly impressed Atticus Finch called her “the bravest person I ever knew,” but this is one time when I disagree with him. The bad-tempered bitch was just virtue-signaling.

Excellent post. Decades ago, on our first day of med school my classmates and I each received, unsolicited, a free medical black bag, courtesy of Eli Lilly. Constructed of cheap plastic, it was too small to bear the usual complement of medical tools yet large enough to convey THE MESSAGE.

Reminds me of the “Breastfeeding Success Kit” I received from my OB’s office, filled with formula samples and coupons, courtesy of Enfamil.

I have not been able to find a pediatrician that will even consider deviating from the recommended vaccine guidelines in their practice in my area. My 6 year old (vaccinated) granddaughter’s pediatrician refused to see her because her 2 year old sister is not vaccinated. I do not know what parents are supposed to do if they are genuinely concerned about all the vaccines and their child needs medical evaluation and possibly treatment.

People need2return2the old ways of doctoring themselves using God given wisdom & Natural medicines. I gave up 13 prescriptions & all pharma trained prescription jockeys (docs) years ago & couldn't be happier or more healthy than I've ever been. The current medical system keeps u tied2Fear & Toxins. Namaste.

Find a still practicing Naturopath.. the old schooled ones.not the young pharma-co-opted ones.

Your child doesn't need vaccines; but he/she does need natural organic food, clean water, lots of exercise, and a loving secure environment. Home school if necessary to protect the children and learn about natural remedies for common problems. One daughter had a DPT shot and then a very severe reaction.. no more vaxxes after that . The other contracted whooping cough from a neighbour's child who had just had the vax. We got through it at home. Just learn as much as you can .. there are tons of excellent books on natural healing and children's health. Join Greenmedinfo.com where you can get answers to any problem and subscribe to Dr. Joseph Mercola's site. You have a truly enlightening and joyous journey ahead of you.. just keep saying no to the medical mafia.

Your description of the rule following docs with their highlighters and laminated protocols is priceless.

My first question for a COVID jab pushing doc is why they feel comfortable recommending products with such an firmly demonstrated lack of purity and content uniformity.

(This was first demonstrated for the public by the genius creator of 'How Bad Is My Batch', which showed us, early and plainly, that the adverse effects of the jabs varied wildly from batch to batch. Later we learned much more from direct analysis of the contents of the vials.)

I am not surprised that such an honest, astute essay would proceed from the keyboard of a CLINICAL psychologist. I.e., one who rejects the mechanistic determinism of the trans-humanists (e.g. Dawkins, Harari, Schwab) that has infected modern medicine and modern psychiatry. Mechanistic Determinists reject free will and consciousness; they attribute man’s psychological condition to nothing more than the random interplay of biochemistry according to the fundamental laws of physics. Since man, in their view, has no free will, he is akin to a computer with sophisticated hardware but no software and certainly no volitionally programmable software. Therefore, following this logic, psychological or medical “problems” are strictly traced back to biochemical anomalies requiring pharmaceutical intervention. Erroneous conceptual frameworks—programming—are never permitted as possible causes; therefore clinical psychology (sitting down and actually taking the time to help a patient discover how their own conceptual framework and/or emotions might be negatively impacting their life and happiness) is out. No money in that. Sell drugs; the problem must be biochemical.

Seek Objectivism. Learn it. Practice it. Teach it.

I often say Covid could not have happened without Obamacare. I worked in a clinic full of independent physicians, well respected, had been in business since the 60’s. 5 yrs after Obamacare in 2010, all the private offices were gone including mine and the remaining docs worked for hospitals. Captured.

We are not powerless. Physicians can choose to leave the corporate practice of medicine. Patients can inform themselves and stand up for themselves.

Beautiful! Your analysis is spot on, reflecting a lifetime of my dealings with these incompetent, overpaid drug pushers.. interesting that gov't Health Ins. plans make sure we're forced to go to them unless we have wealth to afford an alternative.

We have to pay for the therapies that work! or the tests that will reveal the core issue to be resolved. It's a disgustingly corrupt system. I used GPs simply for their diagnostic input, but after tiring from the whole encounter, I just resigned myself to reading, studying and doctoring myself. Now with the help of online real doctors like Joseph Mercola, it's much easier to opt out.

Dr McFillin do you have any guidance as to how to possibly reverse a diagnosis in a patient's medical paperwork? Family member was diagnosed as bipolar 2. As listen to all of your podcasts, I see that that could have been manufactured due to meds she was given for anxiety or depression to begin with. She had some bad periods where she had lots of anxiety and health issues for over a year, and worked with a psychiatrist with bipolar meds as well as anti-anxiety/depression meds. She has since gone off all the meds because she had a baby and she didn't want to put the baby at risk. She is still off of them almost 3 months later and I'm trying to figure out how to convince her not to go back on them, that she may have been misdiagnosed. If this is the case, it seems like she needs that off of her medical records. Are you stuck with a diagnosis like this forever? What would be some good steps to take to even figure out if this was a true diagnosis. I'm just afraid she's going to go back on the meds again and everything I listen to on your podcast as well as Dr Josef Witt-Doerring's podcasts tells me it wouldn't be a good idea to head that way again.

There's another aspect to this dynamic you're not addressing. Primary care in this country is by far the most poorly compensated area of medicine, with fewer actual physicians going into it. Everyone wants to specialize now because doctors who do make tons more money. The medical issues that used to be referred to psychiatrists as recently as 10 years ago now are filtered to primary care because people cannot or will not pay the exorbitant out-of-network fees that a psychiatrist will likely cost. So now primary care practitioners (usually not doctors today - they're probably a NP) are viewed as an "easy" (low-cost) way to get medications like SSRIs. It's not necessarily a "bad" thing because it lowers the barrier of entry for medications that someone might really need. But it also creates a system where SSRIs are now prescribed in 5 minutes, with the practitioner (again, probably a nurse) having to see a patient every 10 minutes to meet the office's bottom line.

Dr. Roger McFillin's avatar

I disagree.. this is not an access to psychiatrist issue (that is most certainly not supported by data). This article reflects the doctors pushing the drugs and vaccines on patients who are not seeking them... due to guidelines and perverse financial incentives

Jill's avatar

My point isn't about a lack of access to psychiatrists - it's about the pressures put on a low-paid primary care system that increasingly isn't even being overseen by physicians.
