Covid showed many people that the word "science" is actually a front for the religion of scientism.....and we no longer have any illusions at all what it is all about. No amount of weaponized language can ever again disguise true intent that tries to hide behind deception. In 2021, I watched how the child protective services agency that I worked for took the experimental covid v@x and by policy defined it as "routine medical" so that every so-called "eligible" victim of the despicable system was expected to be subjected to it. With the swipe of a pen, the definition was changed.......voila! Once you know, you can never un-know.

The words "science" and "doctor" elicit a kind of pseudo-religious reverence now, which discourages any kind of rigorous questioning. At a time when people are searching for so many answers, this is profoundly dangerous.
It’s ok.. I think this shows something. I think it shows a desperate grab for legitimacy in a world where people are finally seeing the man behind the curtains. It’s beginning to get obvious now so this actually made me laugh it’s such a foot stamping “I’m intelligent too” move.
I’m reading an academic tome titled “A History of Marxist Psychology”. I never would have thought that psychology was used As a tool towards the Marxist project. Or that the theory of mind was applied towards making the mind like an ant, a proper communist
I agree that adding the word "scientific" is an attempt to lend credibility. But that is not why I ultimately disagree with this article.
The problem is not the name change. The problem is that the DSM is a diagnostic framework that remains largely disconnected from scientific mechanisms.
To paraphrase Wittgenstein, philosophy gets into trouble when science goes on holiday. And psychiatry is precisely the domain where science has too often gone on holiday—leaving language to do the work that biology cannot yet support.
The DSM does not describe diseases in the way immunology or oncology does. It does not identify underlying causal pathways. It describes clusters of behaviours in committee language, and then treats those linguistic categories as objective entities.
Take ADHD. The language is framed in a way that aligns perfectly with pharmaceutical intervention. A child is not responding to an unnatural environment, not signalling distress through restlessness or dysregulation; instead, they are said to have a disorder—one that conveniently has a lifelong drug pathway attached.
The nervous system is shouting that something is wrong.
And in the brave new world, the answer is too often a chemical soma: methylphenidate as ritual, prescription as resolution.
So yes, language matters. But not because psychiatry is a covert psychological operation.
Language matters because, in the absence of a mechanism, diagnosis becomes metaphor—and metaphor becomes market.
Such an important call to action. Thank you. I am with you all the way. Sometimes I feel like I'm screaming into the abyss with colleagues in counselling and psychotherapy who've bought the "scientific" model and narrative hook, line and sinker. Sigh.
The DSM is a politically constructed tool of categorisation, which has been enormously influenced by sustained lobbying from various Advocacy groups - whose brief is to obtain more support, money, or protection. Much of what is contained in the diagnostic criteria has not been scentifically tested or validated. When we look and the studies that "justify" the decisions, they are methodologically corrput. Inferences are drawn that cannot be reasonbly made from the results. This "scientific" discourse is then filtered through the attention economy and becomes fact. Nothing about the DSM is 'Scientific".
What a racket, a racket that is harming millions. Now we have psychiatric nurses and doctors prescribing SSRIs online from their mental health clinics and smoothly billing insurance companies for the damage they are causing—a veritable gold mine. We need so many more legal interventions to protect us from these 'scientific' manipulations.
Good summary. It’s as old as the hills isn’t it. They found a new religion of elitism. Scientia means knowledge and “Knowledge itself is power”. The human mind is open for suggestion. When Lord Fauci said "I am the Science" I knew we were at peak corruption in the entire field. No more can any science be blindly trusted.

Changing one word Statistical to Scientific & hoping people think the DSM less as a "bible"? It doesn't add up.
