I believed what I was told, my brain wasn't working right. I took their pills for 10 years until I finally started questioning why I didn't care if I lived or not, why do I feel numb? This is when I started reading about childhood development and finally decided to try therapy. One year of quality therapy did so much for me. I am now in the process of tapering my medications. It has been over a year of small dose reductions. All the years my Rx was renewed I only recall being asked by one provider if I would like to try therapy. No one asked about my childhood, my family or any traumas I may have experienced. But I can't blame the doctors, they are going by what they were taught. This needs to change. Thank you Roger, for writing about this very important topic.
