Yes! This piece is amazing and I totally agree. Having lived through this myself as a teenager 10 years ago, I can attest to this.
It strikes me as profoundly anti-female to give the idea to young girls that they are mentally ill because they don't behave, think and feel like men.
It took me until age 27 to truly start to understand that my deep feelings are not only okay, but hold the potential to make me an excellent wife and mother.
Until age 17, I was an honest, brave, vibrant, bully-ball buster & this is what I became—“the perfect citizen: dependent, doubtful, and docile”
I fell for the degrading names they called me. I took their DSM label and thanked them for it, as if I’d graduated summa cum laude from their university! Mission Accomplished for 38 YEARS!
I’m not ashamed tho. THEY DRUGGED ME! (Forced I might add, restraints, injections, locked seclusion & all. Just for a firm verbal NO THANK YOU) But at 56 years old after a medication adverse reaction & a cold turkey the veil began to lift and I went down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Three years later & I am a full fledged human being who knows who she is. Definitely who she’s not! I’m an ever changing, ever learning, growing ,DYNAMIC mama bear human female being with plenty to offer the world and certainly NOT chronically severely mentally ill, needing a life sentence of drug management by men & women dressed up in doctor costumes until they eventually kill me!
Yes I’m angry. And no I don’t need to forgive to find peace! I don’t need to move on with my life! I need to do my part to stop this madness! And my righteous anger is my fuel not my disease!
Excellent. My daughter bought into this medical scam. I fought it for her early when the unhappiness hit, but when she became an adult she of course made her own choices. They added and added at her request because she was intelligent and knew how to answer to give her what she wanted. When the suicidal thoughts hit the last time, it was the last time, and although she immediately regretted it, called for help, and was in the hospital, they screwed her care up so badly they killed her. (Lawsuit taken by big firm, but in the end all the doctor experts covered for each other). You never know what's going to happen when you mess with a brain. You can't count on other people doing what you'll assume they will do.
The way teenage girls and women get medicalised and socially dominated has always angered me, but it's hardly a post-DSM innovation. Long before BPD was thrown at idiosyncratic and expressive women, you had "hysteria" -- and the psychiatric profession's great genius solution, surgically removing the clitoris -- is right up there with PSSD in terms of sexual mutilation.
Rebellious housewives in the fifties getting lobotomised and returned to their grateful husbands: yeah, that was enlightened.
And what about the good old days when transgressive debutantes experimenting with Marijuana and jazz got thrown in a snake pit by their respectable parents and thrilled to the therapeutic wonderland of insulin coma therapy. Completely ruined life, but at least she wasn't sleeping with any negro musicians.
In many ways the SSRI chemical apocalypse is same old, same old. More sanitized, polite, a checklist, algorithmic whitewash. But psychiatry is merely the medico-behavioural wing of the status quo, with its fear of the passionate, the deep-feeling and the spiritual. They feel tyrannised by awareness and emotion. Usually women embody a greater degree of affective literacy than men, but not always: the 20th century saw a multitude of sensitive male artists and individualists sacrificed at the psychiatric altar.
It's so nastily cynical the way the rapacious, amoral right-wing juggernaut of Big Pharma managed to infiltrate left-wing female identity politics and convince them they were being empowered and anti-stigma by self-diagnosing transient angst as depression to be solved by pharmacological dissociation. You have to admit: it's brilliant social engineering and marketing. But thoroughly, utterly evil.
Yes, although probably best to understand a globalist agenda beyond left and right.
Twilight sleep (the act of knocking women unconscious so doctors could "birth" babies) was brought to the US in part by feminists demanding the right to "pain-free" birth. Medicine ran with it for decades, harming women and their babies.
For over a hundred years at least, there has been a misunderstanding that if we can just use medicine to "overcome" our biology, women can be free. Yet from dangerous birth practices, to birth control, to HRT, there have been women warning against the dangers of such interventions and women demanding access as a "human right."
Not sure this is a right wing ploy at all. It's the left wing feminist that promotes all this medicalization. Teacher's unions run by Bill Ayers (Commie) who life's work is to split families and make people dependent on big government is running the show. He also wrote the current educational theory books being used in Teacher's colleges. Randi Weingarten too, is hardly right wing. They push to have the boys drugged and the parents silenced. They push the medical insanity and push abortion.
This really hit me. My journey with SSRIs and Effexor has been brutal in ways I never could have imagined. The withdrawal has shaken me to my core …physically, emotionally, spiritually. It’s terrifying how little most people, including doctors, seem to understand about what this actually feels like.
What breaks my heart even more is that I came into all this with a deep background in yoga and nervous system work. I knew my body had other ways of healing. But my psychiatrist never asked, never cared.. medication was the immediate, unquestioned answer. No discussion about lifestyle, nervous system regulation, or any of the holistic tools I already had. Just “Here’s the prescription.”
(And then weaponized those tools against me, when the medication wasn’t working).
And that’s what scares me for young girls. Western medicine so often ignores self-agency, quickly slaps a label on someone, and medicates first. These drugs can create lifelong dependency, alter developing brains, or even increase suicidal thoughts … and too often, that reality is minimized. And their medication becomes their identity.
Big Pharma has wrapped itself in a doctor’s white coat, and people are paying the price. I’m living through the fallout of a system that prioritized convenience over true care, and I don’t want to see more young women go through this. ❤️🩹
I came back to say that I sent the pregnancy article you linked to a young friend of mine 6 weeks pregnant with twins. She had mentioned a couple days ago she was probably going to go back on an SSRI she weened off of this year because in the past she'd had bad postpartum depression. She read it and I believevshe will now not start back on them. Yay!
These are the same girls who are told their adolescent distress is so abnormal, so pathological, that what they are feeling is "gender dysphoria" and they may not actually be girls at all. They are taught to hate and reject their female bodies, their female emotions, and their female struggles. Their rejection of themselves is celebrated and labeled as "being their true selves." Them not only are these girls loaded up on SSRIs, Abilify, and Seroquel, they are put on depoprovera - an extremely mood dysregulating hormonal birth control - to stop their periods because of their "dysphoria." As their mood and mental health worsens, the experts declare it to be even more gender dysphoria requiring even more medical interventions. Now these girls with normal adolescent female experiences and distress have their endocrine systems sent into more chaos with male levels of testosterone. The experts tell these girls they must wear binders that destroy their ability to breathe in ways that could calm their nervous system or let them exercise in ways that could help improve their mental health. Then these girls are told to obsess over the day they can end the pain, physical restrictions, and shortness of breath from wearing the binders by getting surgery to remove their breasts. Even among those fighting against what is being done to children and teens in the name of "gender affirming medicine," the focus has moved away from these very female-typical struggling young women who are experiencing the kinds of messy, highly emotional teen girl behavior that has been mocked and looked down on for ages. They don't elicit the sympathy of the liberals they are trying to reach. Instead, the focus is on the "gender nonconforming girls," the ones who DON'T act like typical teen girls, because they are the more sympathetic cases to the left. So yet another layer of people rejecting these girls for being "too female."
Wow thank you! This made me reevaluate a lot about my own life and resentment I had against my mom for not getting me medicated in high school. Turns out it really was right to not. I do hope I can find ways to support my daughter’s emotional development and help her find purpose and meaning and ride out the roller coasters of emotions as she reaches puberty. Any good resources you recommend for helping girls make it through teenage years without numbing it all with meds??
Why only girls? Because girls might eventually make babies and we are after all in the midst of the depopulation agenda seen just about everywhere. Can any of these clowns prove that SSRI's don't screw up the fertility process?
Satan could not overcome the Divine and Sorrowful Heart of the Holy Mother so he is attacking her beloved daughters. Instead of teaching young women they are made in the image of God, the divine feminine, we are drugging them.
Evil is terrified of the power of the divine feminine - the guardian women - and will do everything in its power to try and destroy them.
Reading this moved me to tears. It’s like something ancient in me recognized the truth of it, even if I can’t speak it clearly yet. The weight of this is real.
My 16-year-old daughter came to me and said she thought she's bipolar. I let her know everything she felt was typical of someone her age. I let her know that if she wanted to find ways to deal with her emotions I would help her, but a diagnosis and meds was a no. I know how they try to control our emotional expression. She is a typical girl who falls on the spectrum of human behavior with her own unique idiosyncrasies. There is nothing wrong with her or other young women who feel big emotions at different stages in life. I was one who fell for the lie and thankfully was able to stop taking meds.
Great article again! Women have been silently under attack for several decades, everything to convince them that they are lesser than men, that they are downtrodden and should be equal to men and do what men do, this to drive women away from their divinity and reason for being. Women have always been equal to men, I would argue maybe even higher as they are the glue that keeps society together, the saying “behind every successful man is a strong woman” is true, as an analogy, if a man is the ballistic missile, the woman is the guidance system! The evil know it and that’s why they are attacking women, women are what keep society together and wholesome, they are the intuition, the fierce defenders of family and children, the spotters of nefariousness!! Even the stupidity of men competing in women’s sport, it’s all designed to break and crush the female spirit, again, great article Dr McFillin.
We currently see this phenomenon at work in our political discourse. Women have been shamed into believing their maternal and protective instincts, for example, are bigoted. If I don’t feel comfortable with a man in drag performing for my child, I need to check my bigotry. I owe it to my child to raise them without bigotry, so I must suppress my instincts and allow men acting out sexual urges to dress like exaggerated caricatures of women and perform in front of children. We don’t want to behave like those judgmental and oppressive Christian’s do we?
Here Is where I see a chicken and egg issue. To what extent do SSRIs cause deadening of our female agency, versus how much does societal shaming for feeling or acting upon our female agency drive us to seek out psychiatric drugs to quiet the dissonance? It’s no small thing to be true to yourself, or even protect yourself and your children, when the cost for doing so is exile from “polite” society.
Wow, I am blown away by this article. You see a female development for what it is, and describe this problem brilliantly - and tragically. Devastating. Parents need to keep waking up to these predatory pharmaceutical and "healthcare" practices!!!
I was put on Ativan at 15 because I was anorexic. I was anorexic because my parents treated me as the scapegoat because i could see their lies and manipulation. I refused to take it after a week because I felt so drugged.
I’m still told I have “big emotions “.. no I just show them.

I'm really sorry to read this. I'll read the posts on your publication when I get the chance as this has moved me. God bless you.
Thank you. I rarely post anymore, but it's all there.
I’m so sorry to hear that. 😟
Thank you
I’m sorry for your profound loss.
Thank you

How dare you feel?
Why are you so weak?
All the things you're doing
I have what you seek
You're flawed
Broken to your core
The more you know it
Drugs open the door
To shame, self-loathing
The darkness inside
Pop those pills
With wallets open wide
Consciousness fading
Your flicker subsides
Simon says
Look at you
Money sees
What you do
Money knows better
A false god above all
Ingest those demons
Give up your call
